The Art in the Market continues to be a point of origin for P*JET * IMAGES to expose their work to their home base of Flint. In their continued effort to bring a fresh look at their art, P*JET has expanded their print product line from 12 prints to 33 prints, added decorative key chains with witty one-liners, and is offering a pack of six note cards with envelopes. The following is a review of the Art in the Market Arts and Crafts Show, Saturday, August 1, 2009 at the Flint Farmer’s Market.

It was a beautiful, warm summer day on the lawn overlooking the Citizen’s Bank parking lot, behind the Flint Farmer's Market. The sun was hot during the morning hours, as sparse groups of people wandered around the show, looking at homemade wares from Michigan Artists.

Near lunchtime, a pair of ladies entered our small canopy after I recognized them from my days working at Genesee Intermediate School District. They asked questions about all of our products, our prints, our books, key chains, and note cards, and walked away with their very own copy of Meet Larry, a digital Goldfish Print, and a pack of note cards. With smiles on both sides, the sale was completed and our customers departed, wishing us well as they continued on to visit other vendors.

Our booth was located along East Boulevard Drive, along side of a very large tree. A newcomer to the Art Show set up his booth next to ours - Dan Waltz, a fellow author, painter, and book illustrator. He shared his experience of being an artist for over 25 years, of days when he would sell out, and of parents and grandparents buying children's books for their children. We have since placed his banner in our links section, under Multiple Media Artists.

Even though the Farmer's Market was packed, the art show behind the market was about as slow as molasses in January, still, we left feeling great at making our two sales, a huge leap above our last several shows. We look forward to better times when people can visit the Flint Farmer's Market and buy more Michigan-Made products for their very own homes.
