P*JET’s second show at the Flint Farmer’s Market was rather successful, despite a dreary, cool, and rainy day. The temperature ranged from the high fifties to the low sixties in the morning, and slowly it crawled into the low seventies by the afternoon. Cool winds around lunch time gave the atmosphere an extra measure of “let’s stay inside today”.

The Flint Farmer’s Market held its 2009 BBQ Battle, selling punch cards to sample six vendors’ barbecue products. The vendors that participated were Charlie's Smokin BBQ, Famous Dave's Legendary Pit BBQ, HomeBoy BBQ of Flushing, Red Wagon BBQ & Catering of Grand Blanc, Vehicle City Ribs, and World Class BBQ. The results of the competition are as follows:

While out sampling some of the delectable meats, my wife Pam sold a Medusa Print! This has been our first sale since our first show in Waterford, where we sold two children’s poetry books. I am under the understanding that the customer really wanted the original painting, but thought $250.00 was our of his reach.

The rain moved in around 1:30, showering our tarp-covered canopy with water from heaven. A small amount blew onto one of Pam’s original drawings, but did not ruin it completely. The rain ceased until it was time to leave, where just as we had packed the final pieces into the car, the rain came down! Fortunately, only a few boxes got wet and nothing was ruined. Overall, we survived our first rainy, outdoor day!
