The following is a review of the Waterford Arts and Craft Show, organized by Keepsake Collections.

On Saturday, April 18, 2009, Keepsake Collections hosted their Spring Arts & Crafts show at Waterford Mott High School in Waterford, Michigan. The show began at 10am and ended at 4pm.

Overall, the show was unsuccessful. Although most of the spots seemed to be filled by vendors, the public did not attend the event. Reasons for this could have been the fact that it was the first beautiful day of the year.

P*JET * IMAGES put on their first art show and sold two children's books, Meet Herbert and Meet Penny. While we were ecstatic that we were able to sell anything due to the low turnout, the booth fees and the transportation costs far outweighed the gains from the show.

What we learned:
We took away several key components from our first show:

  1. Point the display to best maximize the space alotted
  2. Interact with the customers to help them take an interest in the products
  3. The more information about your product, the more likely the customer can make an informed decision
We left the show very enthusiastic and expecting great things for the next show, which would occur the weekend of May 1st in Midland Michigan.
