The Owosso Band Boosters 13th Annual Arts and Crafts Bazaar occurred on Saturday, November 14th from 10am to 4pm in and around the Owosso High School Gymnasium. P*JET * IMAGES was a late addition, but we received a great corner booth at the back of the gym. We had a great day, no rain, and were amongst many different kinds of crafts, not competing with any other authors, which is always nice.

Location

Owosso High School is a mile off from M-21, on the west side of downtown Owosso. The high school is located at the dead end of Gould Street, behind several subdivisions. It has a very nice campus, ample parking, and a very nicely waxed gym floor.

P*JET’s booth was next to a husband and wife who sold knitted mittens and baby blankets, and we were back-to-back with a nice elderly couple who sell photographic prints of trains, wildlife, lighthouses, and nature scenes. To our left, we saw a crafter from Diehl’s Cider Mill Craft show called Pam’s Jams, selling preserves and salsa. Across from us was a jeweler and a woman who sold decorated gift bags.

Turnout

Several hundred people turned out for the craft show, although several thousand could have shown up and we would have never known, since they came in quite steadily throughout the day. The first two hours had a lot of browsers, but after lunch, the buying crowds came through.

Sales

P*JET * IMAGES’ sales figures are as follows: we sold three Adventures in Raoolia novels, eight children’s poetry books (one Meet Herbert, one Meet Samantha, two Meet Larry’s, three Meet Penny’s, and one Sally, Purr and Her Pupp.), and one Animal Art 2010 Calendar. Compared to Linden, we sold four more items!

Praise and glory to God.

Overall Review

Overall, the event seemed to be well advertised, based on turnout, the organizers sent the high school kids around to take lunch orders and to sell sandwiches and salads, they made sales announcements and were more than happy to help crafters (that didn’t have a partner) to watch their booths when nature called. Definitely a craft show worth attending in the future.

The only regret is that we didn’t see anybody we know, but perhaps at our next show, in Clio, Michigan, we’ll see them. (Saturday and Sunday, December 12 and 13).

Talk to you all soon.
