The weekend of October 10th, P*JET * IMAGES was in rural Holly at the Diehl's Cider Mill Craft Show. It was our last outdoor show of the year, and boy, are we thankful!
Location
Diehl's Cider Mill is located 6 miles southwest of Holly, on a dirt road in the middle of the woods. Although we initially thought that there wouldn't be enough people there to fit into a schoolbus, we had a surprisingly decent turnout.
Temperature
Saturday was relatively warm, between both days, but we both froze in the wind, which constantly blew against our canopy, so much so that it bent it. Sunday was nearly 40 degrees all day long, and we were out in it, but better insulated. We came home with frozen toes, ice in our veins, and swearing off outdoor shows in October forever. (We did take an application for next year, just in case if it is warm.)

Business Side
In proportion to the turnout, we did okay. We sold three Adventures in Raoolia novels, one Meet Herbert, one Meet Samantha, one Meet Larry, three Meet Penny books, and one Sally, Purr and her Pupp children's poetry books. Overall, we made back our booth fee, which is much more successful than we have been in the past, with the exception of Frankenmuth, where we took home double our booth fee.
Overall Review
Diehl's Cider Mill receives a mixed review. We were very cold, and there wasn't a huge crowd on hand for the show, even though it had been the third weekend in a row that the show had been occurring. Sales were just above breaking even, but in this economy, we are thankful for what we get. The people were very nice, offering us donuts and coffee in the early morning, can't complain about that! Overall, we would consider coming back next year, assuming that the weather is warmer.
Talk to you all very soon!
