Time Wasted

by Pamela Tilden

When you’ve tried so hard and it just isn’t there
You wonder why then you just don’t care
It hurts so bad all you do is stare
You try and figure but nothing comes out
Because it hurts! all you do is pout
You look off into space
Because you’re really in doubt

When time has been wasted

Your energy is gone and you begin to melt
All the worries and pain are no longer felt
You close your eyes as you tighten the belt
The light is bright as you lay await
You’ve thrown in the towel and set the bait
All you can do now is stand by your fate

This time has been wasted

Yet time is no more and it really doesn’t matter
What you’ve done in the past especially the latter
There must be a way a way to go back
The time is no longer that’s not what you lack

What time has been wasted

With space standing still
There’s plenty of time
Now let's speak up!
And end this mime
In thought you reasoned
And then you gasped
Thankfully this time stood still
And nothing had really lapsed

No time has been wasted
