Upside Down

by Pamela Tilden

Published: 2007-07-31

My day started out upside down
The sun didn’t come up
The people walked underground
And the world wasn’t round

In the dark we all are
Light is hard to see
When you have to look upon
The worse there is to be

Even when you think
There can’t be more to view
You look over your shoulder
Only to see something new

It’s far away but close
And when you reach out to touch it
There’s nothing there to feel
There’s nothing there to see
There’s nothing there that’s real

I don’t know how to fix it
Every day it is a loss
When I think it’s getting better
There’s just another path
I have to cross
