Bus Stop Extinction

by Pamela Tilden

Published: 2009-11-22

It was a shelter
it was a home.
Now it's a ruin
just like in Rome.

We woke up to cracklin'
thought it was rain
Too light for night
It was one big flame

School is so close
Where will they stand
can someone really boast
for leaving just land

It was also for play
the kids did pretend
you'd see them each day
Within they'd play with a friend

If a lesson from this
was to be learned
if the spark exists
something will always be burned
